A day for love in Belgrade

Michelle & Marce, July 8, 2018

I hear it all the time, “we are shy,” “we’ve never had our photo’s professionally taken,” “we’re totally awkward in front of the camera,” “I’m not sure that we’ll really need more photos of ourselves.

If you’re on the fence about whether or not you really need an engagement session, here’s some reasons why it’s a great idea and something you’re likely regret skipping.

It’s your biggest opportunity to become comfortable in front of the camera

Chances are, neither of you have been professionally photographed and if you have, piece of cake then! An engagement session gives you a test run before the wedding day to get comfortable with each other in front of the camera in a more relaxed and intimate setting. No wedding party to chirp you in the background, no family members trying to sneak photos, just a relaxed setting with you and your fiancé. Not everyone feels comfortable being intimate or posed in front of the camera, this will be a fun practice session to set your comfort levels and get ready for the wedding day.

You’ll get to know your photographer … that’s me!

Working together in a fun and relaxed setting without the crunch of a timeline to follow will be a great way for us to get to know each other just a little better and prepare us for the best photos to capture on the wedding day. I’ll learn what works for you both with poses, cues, how you interact with each other, your individual personalities and even the funny quirks. Learning these details and little nuances before the wedding day will help me streamline posing on the wedding day and what works best for capturing more authentic relaxed photos you guys will love. I always love seeing my clients favourites from their gallery once I’ve delivered their session.

You’ll have amazing keepsake photos for your home or personal use pre-wedding or on the wedding day itself

Once you have your engagement photos, there are endless possibilities of how you can share & display them. Engagement announcements, save the dates, wedding websites, invitations, thank you cards, wedding slide shows, social media sharing, coffee table albums or prints for your home are just a few. I absolutely love being tagged in a favourite photo online or seeing clients print their photos and frame them for their homes. However you choose to share them, I love simply love seeing them make it off the screen.

You’ll have great quality photos of yourself in a more relaxed & meaningful setting that represents you both

Perhaps it’s the place you met, a favourite coffee or ice cream spot, where you got engaged or with your “furry family” members, scheduling your session in a location that is most meaningful to you or reflects your personality is the best way to have great quality photos of yourselves that you’ll truly love.

Want to bring your furry friend(s) to help relax the atmosphere? Heck ya! I absolutely love when clients bring their pets. I’ll provide you some helpful tips on how to incorporate them into your shoot.

Not sure exactly where you want to shoot? I am happy to offer you a variety of locations and options that will best reflect you both, your personalities and style. We can keep it fun and relaxed in an outdoorsy setting, Winnipeg has many beautiful parks and open spaces or some landmarks and industry feels in the exchange. You can let me know what you envision your photos to look like and together we can find somewhere that will suit you best.
